Why you feel like crap every day

why you feel like crap every day

Do you wake up feeling like you have been run over by a truck? Do you feel tired all day and have to fuel yourself with coffee and energy drinks to survive? Do you feel as if you are sick all the time but can’t point at something particular? Well, sometimes I do. I have found out some reasons you could be feeling like crap and what you can do about it.

You don’t eat well

why you feel like crapWhat you put into your body determines how good you feel. If you stock up junk and run for fast food for every meal, your body has a way of telling you that it is not happy. Eating right can transform how you feel dramatically. Adding fruits and vegetables to your diet is not only good for your immune system, but it will make you feel great.

What’s interesting is that the more fruits and vegetables you eat, the more your body wants this kind of food and doesn’t long for junk food. Have you ever noticed that when you eat fast foods, you do so for several days in a row? The more you eat the more you seem to crave?

The same thing happens when you eat healthy foods. Once you get used to it, you don’t have to convince yourself to eat well. It becomes a habit and you won’t feel so guilty when you indulge in the occasional junk.

You don’t exercise

why you feel like crap every dayExercise can transform your life. I try to move every chance I get because it makes me feel good. The more you exercise, the more resilient and adaptable your body gets. You feel less tired and more energized to go through your day. Lack of exercise makes you feel energy drained and the thought of doing something strenuous is torturous.

Did you know, exercises help you strengthen your immune system? When you are fit, you are less prone to get sniffles and other easily kept away illnesses. Try exercising a bit and realize how good you start to feel.

You have toxic relationships

self-improvement goals to change your life in 2020I cannot emphasize enough the value of good relationships in our lives. The kind of relationships we engage in influence our moods and emotions. Whether it’s romantic relationships, friendships, sibling or parental relationships, when they are sour and toxic, they hurt us. They affect our emotions and how good you feel on any given day is highly affected by your mood.

Think about it. When you have a fight with someone that you love it just ruins your day. You feel irritable and nothing seems like fun at all. I know I do! You may be feeling like crap simply because the people around you are draining all of your positive energy and you are walking around with a dark cloud above your head.

You don’t take enough water

why you feel like crap every dayPoor hydration can make you feel lethargic all day. Water is a human fuel. The more hydrated you are, the better you feel. The more you have fuel to move around.

Ensure that you are surrounded by water all around you so you take a sip here and then. Water has the capacity to clear your skin, clear your mind and make you feel energetic.

Taking sufficient water also helps you manage your eating habits. Sometimes, you are not hungry, you just need some water, and it is not easy to tell the difference.

You are unwell

why you feel like crap every dayYou could be feeling terrible because you are ill. Some diseases’ symptoms don’t easily show and you can tell you are sick if you start feeling terrible.

Sometimes exhaustion, fatigue, headaches, nausea, acid reflux, joint pains are all signs that you need a checkup. When these signs are chronic, get checked for infections.

You don’t get enough sleep

why you feel like crap every dayLack of sleep can make you feel like crap all day. When you don’t get sufficient sleep, your body is not well-rested and not well equipped to support you for another day.

Lack of sleep can cause headaches, general fatigue, irritability and sometimes even joint pain. If you want to be productive, get sufficient sleep.

In his book, Why We Sleep, Matthew Walker says that the people that say ‘I will sleep when I am dead’ will be dead sooner than later, because they are not taking care of your body. Sufficient sleep helps you get more done in a day than denying yourself sleep done.

With sufficient sleep, you can focus on something for just a few hours and nail it because you are alert and focused.

You are fatigued

why you feel like crap every dayYou may be eating just right, taking enough water, getting enough sleep and exercises but still feel like shit. In this case, you may be fatigued. Your work could be exhausting you and no amount of water or exercise can help you through this.

In this case, you need to take a good rest. This means a few days or weeks of rest. Get out of your normal environment and go somewhere else.

Take a holiday or simply change your environment for a while. This can magically restore you and you come back to work rejuvenated.

You are unhappy

what to do when feeling sadYes, lack of happiness can make you feel terrible. If you are unhappy at work or at home, you may dread each waking moment and this makes you feel like shit.

A bad boss has the potential to hurt your moods so badly that you feel sick when going to work. An emotionally abusive partner can hurt your emotions so badly that you get physically sick. Your situation can make you so unhappy that you start showing symptoms of a sick person.

Analyze your situation and see if you feel like shit simply because you are working or living in a hostile environment.

You don’t get enough air

why you feel like crap every daySome air is good for you. Sufficient air in your brain makes you feel better. If you work in a poorly ventilated environment, you may experience some headaches and lethargy. If you hardly go outside, this lack of fresh air can make you feel terrible.

Try to get some air at least every day. Go outside, breathe, take a walk. Open up windows and let air in. AC may not do it for you, sometimes you just need some good natural air.
